Traveling to 12 countries on 6 continents, the film acknowledges that it may be too late to stop some of the worst consequences and asks, what is it that climate change can’t destroy? What is so deep within us that no calamity can take it away?  www.howtoletgomovie.com/

We hope you’ll join us for this event!  Come and bring YOUR answer what YOU’RE fighting for that climate can’t change!

Off Shore Wind volunteer team kickoff

Right now, our off shore wind public unity and education campaign is about to launch our second phase.

IC1604k
We will be sponsoring events and actions across Long Island, empowering people to become advocates for environmentally and fiscally responsible development of this incredible and readily available resource.  We need your help and involvement to get the word out, to push our officials and our utility to adopt this, Let’s educate our friends, neighbors, children, parents and especially decision-makers, so we can move away from the dirty fossil fuels we use now, and into a comparatively impact-free way we can generate our electricity: from off shore wind.

Join our volunteer team kickoff meeting. We want your energy, ideas, and action to make this a success for all involved.

Thank you for being a part of it!

Great turnout for “Bag It” at Bridgeworks.

Thanks to all for such a fun night and an incredible discussion that followed at our screening of “Bag It” at on 4/1/16 at Bridgeworks!

Thanks also to the City of Long Beach for their support, Long Beach International Film Festival, Long Beach Chamber, Jack Johnson(for the autographed swag), and our event hosts Bridgeworks, and our event sponsors: Cybernet, East End Chiropractic, Lift, and Sunpower by Empower Solar.

All Our Energy will be advocating 100% FOR IT and advocating it be done to the highest environmental, wildlife, and shared-use standards possible for best outcomes. As residents of a 100 mile long island that is very vulnerable to climate impacts, we cannot afford to stay on the fossil fuels driving that climate change. The impacts of off shore wind would be minute, compared to more or continued dirty energy use.

If you have any questions about it, please contact us and we will address your concerns or find out the answers you seek.

Today we told LIPA- its time for renewables!

Today we rallied at the Long Island Power Authority Trustee meeting to tell them “Plug Me In To Off Shore Wind!”

All Our Energy were part of over 100 activists and demonstrators at this week’s LIPA Board meeting.

LIPA Chairman Suozzi asked, and not a single person in the room was against developing off shore wind. I spoke in favor of moving forward with off shore wind right now for the power they need to generate for the South Fork of LI.  For the same price we can have clean energy with battery storage from an off shore wind farm 30 miles from Montauk, or build new fossil fuel power plants and gas pipelines to feed them across the island, including sensitive nature areas.  Why would we not move into the renewable energy future??

Our Letter Published in Newsday

Newsday published my (highly abbreviated) letter about Suffolk County’s single use plastic bag proposal this week.

http://www.newsday.com/opinion/letters/letter-newsday-uses-plastic-bags-too-1.11576235

newsdaybagsWe are pushing for similar action in Long Beach, to eliminate single use plastic bag pollution. Thank you for your support.

Can you display that support with one of our bumper stickers??  this show of support will help your neighbors and everyone become aware and transform Long Beach to a reusable bag culture, saving our waterways from tens of thousands of plastic bag assaults and helping keep our streets clean.

Please save the date for our next showing of Bag It at Bridgeworks on April 1!

2 things you can do to help us stand up for renewables

Long Island is at a crossroads. We need more power to run our homes, especially on the South Fork.

IC1603
A developer is ready to supply this energy, from an off shore wind farm, promised at the same or lower cost than a new fossil fuel power plant, with battery storage to cover the estimated few dozen hours annually the wind isn’t blowing, and they take all the risk, supplying electricity at a fixed rate for a certain period of time.

In opposition to that, another developer wants to put one or two fossil fuel powered plants into the area. this will probably require new gas pipelines and other dangerous infrastructure through Long Island neighborhoods to feed it.

The choice couldn’t be clearer.  why would we go back to the past when we can move on to a clean energy future and start the renewable energy revolution right here on Long Island- a revolution that comes with up to 40,000 jobs?

Join our meeting tonight to educate and support YOU to speak at LIPA’s March 21 board meeting for off shore wind!  This will likely be the last chance before they announce their decision. Let’s be heard and help them make the right choice!

“Bag It” was a Hit!

We had a fantastic time and an enlightening conversation followed on from our screening of “Bag It” last Friday.

Did you get your BYO Bag LB Bumper sticker???  Put one up and help show your support for this campaign!

Now we need your help to expand and show the widespread public support (that’s YOU)  that there is for eliminating single use plastic bag pollution.  Let’s make this a dinner table topic and transition Long Beach to a reusable bag culture!
