Point Lookout, NY- The future has arrived here in this quiet, seaside hamlet in Long Island’s Nassau County.
That is, in the form of a 100 kilowatt wind turbine, the latest addition at The Town of Hempstead’s Point Lookout Energy Park.

Environmental Assessment
I had the pleasure this past April of sitting down with Ron Masters, fellow Point Lookout resident who happens to be the Commissioner of Conservation and Waterways. He heads the department under Supervisor Kate Murray’s Town of Hempstead government that is spearheading this project. It was a great hour-plus long highly informative conversation.
With the tower up, and the turbine coming in the next few days, it sure is an exciting time in our little town, at least for me, anyway!
Follow-ups will continue as the project becomes operational and I will answer any related questions about this in future articles or personally so please comment. I have quite a lot of information, and opinions as well.
